Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Trades Hollywood for “Calmer Life” in North Carolina

Dee Snider, the iconic frontman of Twisted Sister, has made a surprising move, leaving the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles behind for a quieter life in rural North Carolina. But why the sudden change of scenery for the rock legend?

After a decade in Los Angeles, Snider, his wife Suzette, and their entire family decided it was time for a change. "Everybody was sitting around saying, you know, it's time to get back to a calmer life, not 'back to' — to a life we never had," Snider revealed in an interview with WFMY News. This pivotal moment led them on a cross-country search for the perfect place to call home.

North Carolina emerged as the top contender. Snider explained, "We literally looked from the West Coast to the East Coast and slowly started dialing in. And North Carolina took the number one spot." What sealed the deal? The welcoming community and the state's natural beauty. According to Snider, their family toured the state and were greeted with amazing experiences and people which made their choice easier.

But it wasn't just about finding a peaceful retreat. Snider has bigger plans for his new home. He aims to contribute to North Carolina's growing film industry and bring industry to the state. Building a thriving hub for movie production, similar to what Atlanta has achieved, is a key part of his vision.

The entire Snider clan is now rooted in North Carolina. "We're all here, by the way — my four grown kids, six grandkids, we all live in North Carolina, this is our home," Snider proudly stated. Married to his wife, Suzette, for over four decades, Snider emphasizes family values as his driving force.

Beyond family and film, Snider also appreciates the open roads and scenic landscapes North Carolina offers. An avid car enthusiast and motorcycle rider, he enjoys the freedom of exploring the state's beauty. During the interview, the article mentions that Snider recounts how his favorite thing to do is “get out on the open roads and just really enjoy the beauty of the state and enjoy riding and driving.”

From rocking stages worldwide to embracing a serene family life in North Carolina, Dee Snider's journey is a testament to the power of change and the pursuit of a life well-lived. The rockstar's family decided that they needed to get back to a calmer life outside of Los Angeles when making their decision.
