Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Curate ‘Future Ruins’ Festival: A Celebration of Film & TV Composers
Get ready for a groundbreaking event that shines a spotlight on the unsung heroes of the screen! Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the acclaimed duo behind Nine Inch Nails and numerous film scores, have announced the inaugural Future Ruins Festival. This unique festival, set to take place on November 8th at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, celebrates the world of film and television composers, bringing them out from behind the screen and onto the stage.
This isn't just another music festival; it's a cinematic ceremony, a deep dive into sound and story, and a historic first for Los Angeles. Future Ruins promises a thoughtfully curated and immersive experience, giving these often-overlooked musical artists the opportunity to reimagine their work for a live audience.
"It’s about giving people who are, literally, the best in the world at taking audiences on an emotional ride via music the opportunity to tell new stories in an interesting live setting,” said Reznor.
The lineup is a who's who of composers, each a headliner in their own right. Alongside Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross themselves, the festival features:
- John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing)
- Questlove (Performing the score works of Curtis Mayfield)
- Danny Elfman (Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas)

Across three stages, attendees can expect everything from electronic sets and live bands to orchestral performances. The festival prides itself on encouraging its artists to “take big swings and reimagine their work for a live audience.” Reznor emphasizes, "There’s no headliner. There’s no hierarchy. This is a stacked lineup of visionaries doing something you might not see again."
Adding to the excitement, Nine Inch Nails has also announced their long-rumored Peel It Back Tour 2025, their first live outing since 2022. The tour kicks off in Dublin, Ireland, on June 15th and wraps up in Los Angeles, CA, on September 19th.
