T-Pain Alleges Discrimination After Wisconsin State Fair Park Cancels Car Drifting Event
T-Pain is calling out Wisconsin State Fair Park officials, alleging discriminatory behavior led to the cancellation of his “Wiscansin State Fear” car drifting event. The singer took to TikTok to air his grievances, sparking a wave of attention and a response from the fair park itself.
“Wiscansin State Fear,” originally slated for June 13, the day before T-Pain's “Wiscansin Fest,” was set to feature car drifting, carnival rides, and karaoke at the Milwaukee Mile. However, according to T-Pain, things went south after tickets went on sale.
In a nearly 20-minute TikTok video, T-Pain detailed his frustrations. He claims that fair officials initially approved the event, even providing a contact for a carnival ride company after they signed a contract. The problem started, he says, when fair officials raised concerns about the event name being too similar to “Wisconsin State Fair” and supposedly not being “family-friendly.”
The situation escalated when officials allegedly prohibited carnival rides, claiming, “if we have rides there, gangs are going to come.” T-Pain questioned the logic, highlighting the hypocrisy since the Wisconsin State Fair themselves promote rides and games. “They're promoting rides and games, how come there are no gangs showing up to these things that you're promoting? Is it because you're doing it, and not Black T-Pain?” he asked.

Further complicating matters, T-Pain states that organizers cited lack of law enforcement staffing due to Greek Fest happening the same weekend. His offer to provide 100 security guards was reportedly declined. As a result, “Wiscansin State Fear” has been moved to Road America near Elkhart Lake.
Wisconsin State Fair Park responded to the allegations with a statement issued to WISN 12 News, acknowledging “missteps in internal communications” and taking “responsibility” for the way the matter was handled. They stated, “We were overly ambitious about what we could host, and unfortunately, these missteps led to this event not coming to fruition. We are taking steps to ensure a more complete event review process is in place.”
The controversy has sparked debate and raised questions about the motivations behind the cancellation. T-Pain's passionate defense of his event and his allegations of discrimination have resonated with many online, while the State Fair Park's apology seeks to address the damage caused. The move to Road America signals T-Pain's determination to bring “Wiscansin State Fear” to life despite the obstacles.
