Mudvayne Signs with Alchemy Records, Teases New Music After 16-Year Wait

After a hiatus that left fans craving more, Mudvayne is back with a bang! The prog metal veterans have inked a deal with Alchemy Records, signaling a new chapter for the band and the promise of long-awaited new music. This news arrives just in time for their highly anticipated 25th-anniversary tour celebrating their debut album, L.D. 50, sending waves of excitement throughout the metal community.

The announcement was made by Alchemy Records concert promoter Danny Wimmer via an Instagram post. "I had to put @chadnesss @mudvayne on the spot because I have had a hard time getting him to announce and here it is… and it’s coming through my label 'alchemy' and my partner @riserecords," Wimmer shared, expressing his pride in being part of this new phase for Mudvayne. The label also houses bands such as Puscifer, Staind, and Chevelle.

Adding fuel to the fire, Mudvayne's vocalist Chad Gray confirmed in an interview with SiriusXM Octane that new music is indeed on the way. "We've got new shit coming, so get ready motherfuckers. It's coming," he said, stirring up a frenzy among fans who have been eagerly waiting for fresh material since their 2009 self-titled album. Gray elaborated that demos were being passed around between members and refined, however the band were yet to enter a studio with a producer to finalise things.

Adding to the excitement, Gray's wife, Shannon Gunz, a SiriusXM radio host, shared her emotional reaction to hearing the rough mixes: "The first time I heard [new Mudvayne songs] — and these are rough mixes — I was literally bawling on the couch." This powerful statement hints at the deeply personal and impactful nature of the upcoming music.

But that's not all! Mudvayne are hitting the road this September for their L.D. 50 25th Anniversary Tour. The tour promises to be a nostalgic trip back to the band's roots, celebrating the album that launched their career.
