Metallica Dominates Syracuse: Pro-Shot Videos and Record-Breaking Attendance
Metallica has been making headlines with their electrifying performances on the M72 tour, and their Syracuse, NY concert was nothing short of legendary. The band recently released pro-shot videos from the April 19th show at the JMA Wireless Dome, giving fans a taste of the energy and excitement that filled the venue.
One of the highlights is the official video of "Creeping Death," the opening number that kicked off the Syracuse concert with a bang. The professionally filmed and edited clip captures Metallica's full, 7-minute live version of the 1984 classic. It's not just about the band though; the video also turns the camera on the crowd, showcasing fans singing along and rocking out. The audio quality is superb, using the mixing board audio for a vast improvement over the in-person experience due to the Dome's acoustics.

Adding to the excitement, Metallica has also shared a pro-shot video of "Holier Than Thou" from their April 24th concert at Rogers Centre in Toronto, offering yet another glimpse into the raw power of their live performances. Fans can also revel in a released pro-shot clip of Metallica performing “One” at the Syracuse show.
The Syracuse performance was made even more special as it marked Metallica's first concert of 2025 and their first Syracuse appearance since 1996. The show drew more than 47,500 fans, breaking the venue's all-time attendance record previously held by The Who since 1982. Bassist Robert Trujillo, singer-guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich absolutely dominated the stage on the historical night.

James Hetfield acknowledged the crowd's enthusiasm, saying, "You make us feel so good and so proud. We are grateful for what we get to do." Highlights from their setlist included fan favorites such as "For Whom the Bell Tolls," "Enter Sandman," "Nothing Else Matters," and "Master of Puppets."
The M72 tour has been a resounding success, playing to approximately three million fans since it kicked off in Amsterdam in April 2023. Metallica played to more than 250,000 fans over the course of two No Repeat Weekends at Mexico City's Estadio GNP Seguros.
The "M72" tour continues with a commitment to the No Repeat Weekend tradition, offering entirely different setlists and support lineups for each night of the two-show stands. Support on "M72"'s 2025 North American run comes from PANTERA, LIMP BIZKIT, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and ICE NINE KILLS.
A portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band's All Within My Hands foundation, which has raised over $15 million to support career and technical education programs, combat food insecurity, and aid disaster relief efforts.
