Jennifer Lopez Busted Nose Scare: Will It Affect Her 2025 AMAs Hosting Gig?
Jennifer Lopez, the multi-talented singer, actress, and performer, recently gave her fans a bit of a scare. While rehearsing for her upcoming hosting duties at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), she suffered a facial injury that required medical attention. But fear not, JLo fans – she appears to be on the mend and ready to bring her signature energy to the stage!
On Tuesday, May 13th, Lopez shared a series of images on her Instagram Story documenting the mishap. The first photo showed her holding an ice pack to her face with the caption, “So this happened…” The next revealed a small cut on the bridge of her nose, with the explanation, “During @amas rehearsals.”
Thankfully, the damage wasn't too severe. Lopez visited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Jason B. Diamond, who stitched her up. "Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond,” she wrote. “A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new.”
This isn't the first time Lopez has experienced a mishap during a performance. Back in 2009, she also injured herself during a performance at the AMAs. This time, however, the injury occurred during rehearsals, giving her ample time to recover before the big event.
The 2025 AMAs will be held at the Fountainbleau Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 26th. This marks Lopez's second time hosting the show, having first taken on the role in 2015. She joins a select group of artists who have solo-hosted the AMAs twice, including Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, and Pitbull.
The AMAs promise to be a star-studded night, with nominations spanning various genres. Artists like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish are all in the running for awards. Fan voting is open until May 15th, with collaboration and social song of the year remaining open until the first 30 minutes of the broadcast. Tickets are currently available on Ticketmaster.
