I Prevail Announces Departure of Vocalist Brian Burkheiser After 10 Years

In a surprising announcement, metalcore band I Prevail has revealed that vocalist Brian Burkheiser is leaving the group after a decade of collaboration. This news has sent ripples through the metal community, leaving fans wondering about the band's future and Burkheiser's next steps.

The band made the announcement via social media, stating: "Today we share that we are mutually parting ways with Brian Burkheiser. This was a difficult decision, but we believe it is the right one and we are all grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together. We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors."

Burkheiser, known for his clean vocals which contrasted with Eric Vanlerberghe's screaming, has been an integral part of I Prevail since their formation in 2013. The band's statement emphasizes that the split was amicable, but offers little detail as to the reasons behind the departure.

Prior to this announcement, Burkheiser had stepped back from touring with I Prevail due to health concerns. He later revealed he was battling Eagle Syndrome, an uncommon disorder affecting the head and neck. While it's unclear if this condition directly contributed to his departure, Burkheiser's battles with the condition were public knowledge.

The remaining members of I Prevail—Eric Vanlerberghe, Steve Menoian, Dylan Bowman, and Gabe Helguera—are moving forward. Vanlerberghe will now handle all lead vocals, with Bowman providing backing support. The band already showcased this new lineup at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio and will continue their scheduled performances, including the upcoming Welcome to Rockville festival.

"Moving forward, Eric will continue to be the powerhouse frontman you've come to know and love," the band assured fans. "He'll be backed up live by Dylan who you've seen in this role many times over the years at the shows we've performed without Brian. Rest assured, we will continue to deliver the high-energy shows that we've made a pillar of our band, and we will continue to perform all the bangers from our catalogue."

This news arrives as I Prevail gears up for the highly anticipated "Summer of Loud" tour alongside Beartooth, Killswitch Engage, and Parkway Drive, set to launch on June 21st. Fans are eager to see how the band adapts to this significant change.
