CRYPTOPSY Unleashes ‘Malicious Needs’ with NSFW Video Ahead of ‘An Insatiable Violence’ Release
Montreal's death metal legends CRYPTOPSY are gearing up to unleash their ninth studio album, "An Insatiable Violence," on June 20th via Season Of Mist. To whet the appetite of their dedicated fanbase, they've dropped a visceral NSFW (Not Safe For Work) video for their new single, "Malicious Needs." But be warned, this isn't your typical gore-fest; it's a thought-provoking, even comical, exploration of the modern-day work grind.

So, what makes this video NSFW? It's not the blood and guts you might expect from CRYPTOPSY. The band teases fans with a video showcasing the bleak mundanity of a standard 9-5 office job. Aside from some minimal, slightly gruesome shots, the only NSFW element about this video is that it's probably not safe to show the person in your office who lives to micromanage you at all costs.
According to CRYPTOPSY:
"'Malcious Needs' is the last song that we wrote for An Insatiable Violence and right away, we were all completely enamored with it. It has a very weird, mechanical, rhythmic ambiance, which was brought to life by the dystopian horror story that you see in the video."
"An Insatiable Violence" promises to be a continuation of the band's brutal legacy. Following up on 2023's acclaimed "As Gomorrah Burns", this new album appears to push the band to even greater extremes. Vocalist Matt McGachy notes the band's dedication to their craft, stating that the album was written during the DEATH TO ALL tour. Flo Mounier adds that their focus has sharpened since COVID, allowing them to work faster and push each other further.

The album tackles themes of modern society through a transgressive lens, likening our relationship with social media to a constantly torturous machine we can't help but feed. Expect mind-boggling percussion from Flo Mounier, described as an "Olympic athlete" by McGachy, and guttural vocals that rival even George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher.
Adding a special touch, former CRYPTOPSY vocalist Mike DiSalvo makes a guest appearance on "Embrace The Nihility", offering an "ultra Easter egg" for longtime fans.
Hot off their Juno Award win for "Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year" for "As Gomorrah Burns", CRYPTOPSY is showing no signs of slowing down. They are currently on tour with Warbringer and Carnation as support for Decapitated’s Infernal Bloodshed Over Europe 2025 tour.

With "An Insatiable Violence," CRYPTOPSY is set to deliver another brutal and thought-provoking chapter in their storied career. Will this album solidify their place at the top of the death metal pantheon? What are your thoughts on the new single and video? Let us know in the comments below!
