2025 BET Awards: Lil Wayne, Playboi Carti, GloRilla to Ignite the Stage!
The 2025 BET Awards are shaping up to be an unforgettable night! BET recently announced the first wave of performers, featuring a dynamic lineup of hip-hop heavyweights and rising stars. Get ready for electrifying performances from Lil Wayne, Playboi Carti, GloRilla, Teyana Taylor, and Leon Thomas as they grace the stage at the Peacock Theatre in L.A. Live on June 9th.
This year's awards are particularly special as they mark the 25th anniversary of the BET Awards, promising a night that celebrates the impact, creativity, and richness of Black culture. Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, expressed her excitement, promising a "can't-miss celebration of everything the culture represents."
GloRilla, fresh off the success of her album GLORIOUS, is a leading nominee with six nods, including Album of the Year and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Playboi Carti will likely bring his signature energy to the stage, riding the wave of his recent album, MUSIC, which dominated the Billboard 200 earlier this year.
Lil Wayne, a hip-hop icon, is also slated to perform, possibly giving fans a taste of his highly anticipated Tha Carter VI album, expected to drop later this summer. Prepare for performances from Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and more!
Leading the nominations this year is Kendrick Lamar, with an impressive ten nods. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla follow closely behind with six nominations each. The night promises fierce competition and well-deserved recognition for some of the biggest names in music.
Comedian Kevin Hart will be helming the show as a host of this year's show.
