#RIPAKA: Sizwe Dhlomo On Having AKA As First Guest On Kaya Drive

It’s been raining memories as people who know AKA recall one thing or the other about him. Among those who recently recalled something about the slain rapper is the South African media personality Sizwe Dhlomo.

The radio host has just recalled having AKA as the first guest of his Kaya Drive programme on the radio station of the same name. He shares that in a tweet, which you can check out below.

In the interview with AKA, the slain rapper dwelled on several subjects, including his attitude towards his fans and his conflict with his Nigerian counterpart Burna. He averred there was actually a miscommunication between him and the “African Giant” over xenophobia in South Africa.

In retrospect, the interview illuminates several aspects of AKA’s life and career and, of course, how his mind works. It’s just too sad South Africans wouldn’t be hearing from him again.

AKA was gunned down just after stepping outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, putting an end to a brilliant music career. Tickets for his funeral, which holds today, February 17, have sold out. His funeral, a private ceremony, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, February 18.

Investigations are currently ongoing to unravel his killers.
