Rapper M.l. Abaga quickly responded to pop star Wizkid’s remarks about rap music by advising rappers to concentrate on their craft and reiterating that the genre will continue to expand.
According to Kemi Filani, Wizkid recently stated in an interview with 10 magazines that the Afrobeat genre of music is the new pop and that the rap genre is no longer relevant.
“Afrobeats is the new pop, with one song selling two million copies in America,” he declared. Even some American musicians lack a diamond album.
“To be quite honest, I no longer listen to any other type of music. Rap is boring to me, therefore don’t listen to it. It is now exhausted and lifeless. These people do the same crap and rap using the same beats and flows. said Wizkid.
M.l. Abaga responded on Friday by writing: “The energy around hip-hop right now feels right.. I am aware that most rappers are still relatively unknown, but now is the time for us to concentrate on our craft and keep improving. This year, as a genre, we did incredibly well, and next year, we will expand!!!!
