The famous artist D’banj’s detention has prompted a response from media personality Daddy Freeze.

According to an earlier report from Kemi Filani news, the musician is presently being held on suspicion of fraud.

Daddy Freeze, who didn’t give his name, responded by pointing out how similar his behavior was to that of politicians.

He pointed out that the artist had committed a crime, something Nigerians often accuse politicians of doing.

“A Nigerian celebrity has come under fire for allegedly acting in ways that we hold politicians accountable for… Here’s to you guys.

D’banj is detained for fraud

Oladapo Oyebanji, better known by his stage name D’banj, was detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), according to a FlickerMusic report.

The musician was apprehended and detained on Tuesday after ICPC agents surrounded him and forced him to turn himself in at the organization’s headquarters in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively reveal.

Insiders claimed that D’banj had evaded summonses for weeks by stating that he was abroad for scheduled concerts each time he was asked to show up for an interrogation regarding a fraud allegation.

The singer is charged with defrauding the Nigerian government of hundreds of naira intended for the N-Power project, an empowerment initiative launched by the Nigerian government in 2016 to combat youth unemployment and advance social development.

Investigators contend that D’banj conspired with some tainted government representatives to add fictitious beneficiaries to the scheme’s payroll. Then, the beneficiaries receive payments into accounts that are now purportedly connected to the pop star.
