Jaybeau Jones Returns to WROR Boston, Reclaiming Afternoon Host Role
Boston radio listeners rejoice! Jaybeau Jones, a familiar and beloved voice in the city, has made a triumphant return to Beasley Media Group's WROR Boston (105.7) as the afternoon host. This move marks Jones's homecoming after a brief departure in May 2024 due to company-wide restructuring.

Jones's history with WROR spans over a decade, commencing in 2013 with part-time engagements and transitioning to a full-time role two years later. His departure last year left a void in the afternoon airwaves, making his return highly anticipated by loyal listeners.
"We are thrilled to have Jaybeau on WROR afternoons, where he belongs," exclaimed Cadillac Jack, Director of Programming for Beasley Media Group Boston, highlighting the excitement surrounding Jones's reinstatement. Scott Morello, Assistant Program Director of WROR, further emphasized Jones's unique connection with his audience, stating, "Jaybeau is one of those rare talents who truly connects with the audience. Having him back just feels right—for the station, and for our listeners."
Beyond his Boston presence, Jones has also been gracing the airwaves of Binnie Media's Classic Hits "Frank FM" network in New Hampshire, and even lent his voice to Cumulus Media's Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago via the Radio Resources Personality on Demand service. Adding to his already impressive resume, he maintains his longtime gig with SiriusXM's 70s on 7, proving his enduring appeal across various platforms.
Jaybeau's journey in radio began early, with stints in major markets like New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Hartford, and Worcester. His contributions to the industry were recognized in 2017 with his induction into the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame for his work at JB105/Providence under the moniker "Johnny Dowd."
Radio Resources' Rich O’Brien highlights that this signifies Jaybeau’s third affiliate partnering with their “Personality On Demand” service.
In his own words, Jones expresses his enthusiasm: "Sometimes, you can come home. I'm very excited!" This sentiment resonates with fans who have eagerly awaited his return to WROR. His comeback not only signifies a personal milestone but also a victory for Boston's radio community.
